The LIFE-SALINAS Project aims at improving the conservation of both the priority fauna species and the habitats of the salinas of San Pedro del Pinatar in Murcia, as well as enhancing the ecosystem services by increasing the production and the improvement of the salt quality, in Mediterranean and Atlantic salinas of San Pedro del Pinatar and Ibiza in Spain, and Samouco and Salmarim (see photo) in Portugal. IPAISAL is providing technical assistance in the design of a quality label for nature-friendly salt making in the four sites participating in the project.
